Description

Join the Kentucky State University Forestry and Natural Resources program to see first year results of a pollinator habitat establishment study.

  • Six pollinator habitat establishment systems were designed in partnership with Roundstone Native Seed to demonstrate a range of good to poor site preparation (weed control) and the resulting effects on native seed establishment and pollinator utilization.

  • Site prep started in Sept 2022, native seeds were installed by Roundstone Native Seed Sept 2023, and we’re collecting vegetation and bee data through 2026.

  • We’ll show each system and discuss 1st year data trends related competition control, native forb establishment and bee (native and non-native) utilization.
