The water quality standards protect Kentucky waterways by setting limits on pollutants and by limiting the types of developments and pollution allowed in some “exceptional” waters. This year, as they do every three years (triennial), the Kentucky Division of Water is updating those standards to make them more current. KWA always prepares detailed comments and submits them to the Division of Water and we will share our comments with our members and supporters when they are complete. You can comment any time up until September 30, 2021 and we hope you will let the state know that you want standards that are based in science and that will lead to healthier waterways for people and wildlife.
