The Shared Stewardship Agreement establishes a framework for federal and state agencies to collaborate better, focus on accomplishing mutual goals, further common interests and effectively respond to the increasing ecological challenges and natural resource concerns. With federal funds becoming available from a variety of programs both forestry specific and also programs forestry can play a role this agreement formalizes everyone’s commitment to sustaining forests and conserving forest ecosystems.
